All-New 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch coming to Edmonton, AB
Chevrolet is wasting no time creating buzz around its latest model, the 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch. Chevy designers and engineers started with same chassis used by the all-new 2016 Cruze sedan and built a functional, sporty and technologically advanced hatchback. The automaker has taken this approach to adapting popular models into different body styles. The Chevy Sonic was among the most recent vehicles from the automaker to take this approach. Currently available timelines predict that the all-new 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch coming to Edmonton, AB will be arriving to dealerships like Don Wheaton in the fall of 2016. More information will be released once it becomes available from Chevrolet Canada.
While the underpinnings of the 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch are shared with its sedan cousin, a brief look at the exterior quickly reveals a flurry of changes. Obviously the roof line has been changed quite drastically. These changes also include wraparound taillights and an integrated spoiler placed on top of the liftgate. Interior space available for buyers to use has obviously received a boost as well. The rear seat is collapseable to accommodate changing needs of customers. With the seats deployed for passengers, more than 18 cubic-feet of space is available. Quickly and easily folding those seats down opens that space up to 47.2 cubic-feet, on par with subcompact SUVs like the Chevy Trax.
“The Cruze continues to set the tone for Chevrolet globally, it articulates the brand promise of offering cars with the latest technologies, more features and greater efficiency, performance and safety with fresh, distinctive styling,” Alan Batey, president, General Motors North America and Global Chevrolet said in Chevy press release. “This the perfect time to bring the Cruze Hatch to North America.”
Once the 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch arrives to Don Wheaton as well as other dealerships, buyers will have to choose among LT and Premier trim options. The more performance-minded RS package will also be available.
Additionally, the 2017 Cruze Hatch will continue host features like the Chevy 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and the ability to integrate smartphones into the Chevy MyLink infotainment system through the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto suites of applications. Also, the new Chevy hatchback will continue offer more standard safety features than competing models, including the Honda Civic. Even with the drastic redesign, rear seat passengers in the 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch will have an additional two inches of legroom to use; outpacing what is available from models like the Ford Focus and Hyundai Elantra.
