Awards for the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V
The excitement surrounding the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, now available at Don Wheaton, has been steadily building since the high-performance sedan arrived to the showroom. Designers have found a way to give the 2016 CTS-V graceful proportions while still finding appropriate places to add aggressive fascia elements. Cadillac has thoroughly dominated this portion of the luxury car market for much of the current decade. Recently, Car and Driver magazine named the 2016 CTS-V as one of its “10 Best Cars” The award third consecutive award for a Cadillac CTS/CTS-V model. In fact a Cadillac CTS or CTS-V has been on the list for seven of the previous eight editions.
“This award is further proof of Cadillac’s emphasis on product substance to elevate the brand,” Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said in a Cadillac press release. “The CTS sedan is the core of our brand, and sets the tone as we continue to expand the brand.”
The magazine praised the CTS brand overall for its incredible technology options and singled out the CTS-V version for its nearly unbeatable performance profile. During the evaluation phase, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V set a record lap time for a four-door vehicle during the Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition.
Cadillac engineers have ensured that they only included components with the 2017 CTS-V that would maintain or improve the sedan’s performance. One of the most important choices that were made included specially developed tired. The 19-inch wheels on the new CTS-V are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. These tires were chosen because of the widened footprint provided and allow the driver to push the lateral acceleration of the car to nearly 1g.
A third-generation version of Magnetic Ride Control is standard equipment with the 2017 Cadillac CTS-V. The overall performance of this system has been so refined that at 96 km/h, the car can actually automatically adjust the suspension needs by the inch in order to provide one of the smoothest possible rides. Drivers can further customize how their CTS-V handles through the class’s only competition-level adjustable stability and traction control system.
