All-new 2016 Cadillac CT6 arriving very soon
In the past six weeks or so, the new vehicles that have arrived to the Don Wheaton showroom are a fairly diverse cross-section of the best that General Motors has to offer. Since the new year has begun, Don Wheaton has received a few options for the 2016 Chevy Camaro as well as the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Joining the new high-performance Cadillac sedan is an all-new stablemate that will revolutionize how people think about luxury four-door cars. The Canadian on sale date for the 2016 Cadillac CT6 at Don Wheaton is just days or weeks away. Customers in the market for a truly modern, 21st century Cadillac sedan will want to pay attention to what the all-new 2016 offers.
From the very beginning of the development of the 2016 Cadillac CT6, the automaker used the totality of its automotive design knowledge to build this range-topping sedan. Some of these changes requited the use of pioneering manufacturing techniques to deliver the desired results? As for what was desired, Cadillac engineers were presented with one of their biggest challenges to date. They were asked to build a technologically-advanced, responsive – yet aggressive – platform with the kind of performance to dominate European offerings.
“The CT6 is an entirely new approach to prestige luxury, adding driving dynamics and technology while reducing the bulk of traditional large sedans,” Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac said in Cadillac press release. “With the CT6, Cadillac has a competitive edge: our use of advanced lightweight construction and innovative technology, it is prestige luxury reimagined.”
2016 CT6 targets European models
Regardless of which options/engine package a customer chooses on or after the Canadian on sale date for the 2016 Cadillac CT6, they will be getting a very enviable luxury automobile. Many of the design choices made for the new CT6 take direct aim at several heavy-hitters in the luxury sedan class.
For instance, new Cadillac sedan has very similar dimensions to the BMW 7-series but only weighs as much as the smaller Cadillac CTS. The CTS also happens to have a lighter curb weight than the BMW 5-Series. What does this mean to luxury buyers? An all-new 2016 CT6 weighs less than the BMW 5-Series, 6-Series as well as the Mercedes-Benz E-class. Additionally, Cadillac has another surprise in store for potential CT6 buyers in the form of a mild-hybrid version.
Performance and price of the 2016 CT6
A major part of the range-topping categories found with the new sedan which will be revealed for the Canadian on sale date of the 2016 Cadillac CT6 is the engine options. Depending on exactly what a customer is looking for, they will be able to choose among three power plants. Base models and package will have a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a starting price of about $60,000*. A middle of the road package makes the all new, naturally aspirated 3.6-liter, V-6 available. However, this choice raises the price by fewer than $3,000*. A top-of-the-line options arrangement has a twin-turbocharged, V-6 under the hood and breaks the $70,000* barrier.
