Yukon tops reliability study for third year
For nearly 115 years, GMC has built some of the most sought-after, highly capable pickup trucks in the world. As customer tastes changed, the automaker used many of the same lessons to the brands’ fleet of sport utility vehicles. Each passing model-year offers Don Wheaton customers another crop of dependable and technologically-advanced options. This naturally leads buyers to wonder, what is the most reliable GMC vehicle? A recently released study from J.D. Power and Associates placed the GMC Yukon at the top of the full-size SUV class in terms of overall dependability. Also, GMC has a brand finished the report in the top five of all brands for vehicle reliability.
The J.D. Power study tracks models of the GMC Yukon sold in 2013. The global consumer products rating agency determines which models are the most reliable by tracking reported maintenance or repair issues through the third year of ownership. Of all of the vehicles tracked, owners of the 2013 GMC Yukon reported very few issues. The Yukon also ranked at the top of its class for corresponding model-years in reports published in 2014 and 2015.
“The momentum continues at GMC with this recognition,” Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing said in a GMC press release. “We expect all of our vehicles to perform at the highest level every time a customer gets behind the wheel and this achievement validates our commitment to dependability and reliability.”
Will the 2016 Yukon be as reliable?
There is certainly no reason to think that the 2016 GMC Yukon would be any less reliable than its predecessors. In fact, the 2016 Yukon, available at Don Wheaton, is one of the most impressive versions that have built to date. GMC engineers are using the same EcoTec3 5.3-liter, V-8 engine, making 355 horsepower. Fuel-consumption figures are kept as low as possible through the use of fuel-saving technology like direct injection and Active Fuel Management.

From a technology stand point, the 2016 GMC Yukon offers the latest in smartphone integration through the Apple CarPlay suite of applications and the GMC IntelliLink infotainment system. Drivers and passengers of the 2016 Yukon can be kept safer as well thanks to the newly updated Driver Alert Package. Properly equipped models of the 2016 GMC Yukon will have an array of sensors surrounding the vehicle to act like an extra set of eyes to help keep drivers out of trouble, as much as possible.
