New Encore trim package available for special order
Since the Buick Encore subcompact crossover SUV has exploded on the scene, it has quickly become the best selling model in the automaker’s lineup. From a strictly objective standpoint, the 2016 Encore has quite a bit to offer buyers shopping the options at Don Wheaton. The spirited handling, efficient performance and impressive technology of the new Encore have clearly made it appealing to buyers. However, in order to stay on top of a popular class, the vehicle has to continue to improve. Buick handled this by introducing the 2016 Encore Sport Touring trim.
What is different with the Encore Sport Touring?
Buick designers and engineers have taken the best parts of the Buick Encore and improved them further. This includes a winged rear spoiler, 18-inch aluminum and a number of aesthetic upgrades like body-color matching door handles. “With more performance, technology and efficiency, the all-new Encore Sport Touring is a driving force behind Buick’s expansion and a catalyst for introducing a new generation of customers to the brand,” Mike Speranzini, brand director, Buick in Canada said in a Buick Press Release. “This small crossover’s unique package of luxury features helps attract new customers to the brand.”
Upgraded performance for the Encore Sport Touring
The other major change for the new Encore Sport Touring trim is new standard engine. Buyers of the upgraded trim will have a turbocharged, 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood. Among the first things a potential owner will notice is a boost in available power. With a top power rating of 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the new engine offers more than 10 percent more horsepower and around 20 percent more torque on the low end of the power band. Fuel consumption scores are still among the best in the subcompact crossover SUV class with the introduction engine Start/Stop which disables the engine during slow moving stop-and-go traffic.
