What is the max range for the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV?
Chevrolet has a lot of cool things on the horizon with the newest versions of high-performing models like the 2017 Corvette and Camaro. There is no doubt those are going to be great cars and everyone at Don Wheaton is very excited for their arrival. However, Chevy is more than a one trick pony. The automaker is steadily gaining ground in the fields of hybrid cars like the Volt and electric-only powered cars like the all-new 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. Chevrolet and General Motors Canada have finally released information on how far the new Bolt EV will be able to carry drivers and their passengers without ever using a drop of gasoline.
“While range is important, we knew Bolt EV owners would want more — more space and more power — and the Bolt EV delivers,” Bolt EV Chief Engineer Josh Tavel said in a press release. “Our team took special pride in optimizing every aspect of this vehicle, especially its impressive range and ride dynamics.”
How many km will the 2017 Chevy Bolt travel?
When the Chevy Bolt EV was first introduced to the public earlier this year, the automaker’s engineers promised the automotive press that the car would be able to travel up to 320 kilometers using stored electricity. Apparently someone didn’t get that memo. Chevy has once again over-achieved and when the 2017 Chevy Bolt arrives to dealerships like Don Wheaton, customers will be able to travel up to 383 kilometers, based on estimates from the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States.
Performance specs and features of the 2017 Bolt EV
One of the biggest concerns of buyers new to the electrically-powered vehicle world have is a sedate, boring ride. That will not be the case with the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. The permanent magnetic drive motor will be able to produce 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. With a top speed of 145 kilometers per hour, the new Bolt EV can also reach 60 miles per hour from a dead stop in under seven seconds. That’s as fast, or faster, than a competing model with a small four-cylinder engine.
Additionally, space will not be a problem for the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. The interior dimensions for head room and legroom for front and rear passengers rival those of mid-size sedans known for passenger comfort.
