2017 Buick Envision IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus
The 2017 Buick Envision available at Don Wheaton is already among the more special crossover SUVs the Edmonton dealership has to offer. Buick built the new midsize crossover to fit nicely between full-size Buick Enclave and the compact Buick Encore. More importantly, adding the new Buick Envision to the lineup gives families another option to consider when looking for a new vehicle. The American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recently released the safety scores for the 2017 Buick Envision and with little surprise, the new crossover SUV performed beautifully to earn a Top Safety Pick Plus rating.
IIHS testing criteria for the 2017 Envision
In order for the 2017 Buick Envision to pick up the prestigious title of Top Safety Pick Plus, the new midsize crossover SUV had to post satisfactory scores in a number of crash tests. Scores range from “Good” at the top to “Poor” at the bottom of the scale. A vehicle can also have an “Acceptable” or “Marginal” rating. To be named a Top Safety Pick Plus, a test vehicle has to score perfectly for most of the criteria.
The IIHS evaluation of the safety score for the 2017 Buick Envision show perfect marks across the board. Such care was taken with the design of the 2017 Buick Envision that the vehicle performed perfectly in the small overlap crash test. This category is still fairly new and has proven to be a game changer. In the past, many cars that would have otherwise been a Top Safety Pick Plus have been bounced because of poor performance in this area.
