What’s new with the 2018 Chevy Equinox
For every bit of a decade, the Chevy Equinox has been among the leaders in the highly competitive crossover SUV class of the global automotive industry. Chevrolet is not wasting any time touting the changes and outstanding new features for the 2018 Chevy Equinox. Both the interior and exterior of the new Equinox have been drastically changed. The new outside elements have been updated to reflect Chevy’s global design language. Basically, the new crossover will be instantly recognizable like the automaker’s highly popular sedans. On the inside, the engineering and design teams have rebuilt the forward portion of the passenger cabin for better outward visibility for the drive and upgraded the vehicle’s safety systems
“The Chevrolet Equinox ramps up its awareness and protection capability with an even broader range of available technologies designed to assist drivers in everyday situations,” Ray Kiefer, General Motors Active Safety technical fellow said in a press release. “From daily driving to parking and crash avoidance, it can help the occupants avoid trouble altogether.”
New safety features for the 2018 Equinox
At the top of the list of new features for the 2018 Chevy Equinox is the safety alert seat. This piece of equipment has appeared in several other Chevy models, but is now debuting with the Equinox. The specially outfitted seat will vibrate when a driver is drifting into a potentially dangerous situation. Drivers will get an alert through the seat as well as other notifications when changing lanes and there is an obstruction in the vehicle’s blind spot, if they are closing in on traffic too quickly and several other situations. Basically, the 2018 Chevy Equinox is getting the fully load of active safety systems.
