Chevy MyLink common questions
In one iteration or another, the Chevy MyLink system has been available on many of the automaker’s models for several years. In the last two or three model years, the infotainment system has just about reached ubiquity for Don Wheaton customers. When our sales professionals start to mention the features of just about any of our vehicles, they end up asking, “How does Chevy MyLink work?” In an effort to get a head of the problem a little bit, we are going to point out some of the most popular questions we get in regards to the Chevy MyLink infotainment system.
What is Chevrolet MyLink?
The Chevy MyLink, also known as IntelliLink for Buick and GMC vehicles as well as CUE for Cadillac, is a telematics/infotainment system. Those are fancy industry words for a centralized computer system that can handle audio and streaming media duties as well as displaying incoming messages to a paired cell phone. If the customer’s package also offers GPS navigation support, this information will be displayed there as well.
Which phones will connect to Chevy MyLink with Bluetooth?
For the most part, just about any cell phone (smartphone or not) should connect to the system. Bluetooth profiles are always being updated, so unless your phone very old there should be no problem.
Can I talk to Chevy MyLink?
One of the most innovative parts of the entire Chevy MyLink system is its natural voice recognition system. The more a driver uses the voice activation tools the better it will work. If someone is having problems, make sure the windows are closed and background noise is a quiet as possible.

Why doesn’t Chevy MyLink while I’m driving?
As a safety feature a few functions are automatically disabled from the Chevy MyLink system when the vehicle is in motion. At speeds over five miles per hour, most functions that require a driver to take their eyes off the road or hands off the wheel won’t work. This feature won’t activate if there is a person riding in the front passenger seat.
Can I make a phone call and use GPS with Chevy MyLink at the same time?
If you have paired your phone to Chevy MyLink and on call, the GPS will still make audible alerts for navigation prompts.
