2016 Chevy SEMA Concept Vehicles
The few days which comprise the annual Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) showcase in Las Vegas every year are a great glimpse into what automakers like Chevrolet have coming down the pipe. As a company, Chevy brought around 20 concept vehicles to the 2016 SEMA show. Earlier this week, we showed you a couple of our favorites like the Chevelle Slammer which housed a new crate engine. Camaro and Silverado HD concepts were also profiled. Doing a post about each of the 2016 Chevy SEMA concept vehicles would be a bit unwieldy. Here are some highlights from some of our favorites. Hopefully most, if not all, of these concepts will become available at Don Wheaton at some point.

Chevy Trax Activ Concept
The existing Chevy Trax available at Don Wheaton is built to dominate crowded urban streets. In building the Chevy Trax Activ Concept, the automaker wanted to take that idea off-road. The Trax Activ starts with an all-wheel drive model of the vehicle and gets a lifted and widened suspension package. 18-Inch wheels are wrapped with all-terrain tires. These changes have resulted in more ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles as well as improved off-road capability.
Hydrogen-powered Chevy Colorado
Chevy is working to develop a hydrogen powered version of the Colorado midsize pickup truck for the United States military. Basically, they have taken a Z71 version of the Colorado and added a hydrogen fuel-cell power plant. Working on technology like this has some pretty significant implications for the civilian marketplace. Especially if a hydrogen infrastructure can be built like gas stations.
Chevy Camaro Turbo AutoX Concept
A lot of noise was made when the Generation Six Camaro was revealed to have a turbocharged, four-cylinder engine. The Chevy Camaro Turbo AutoX concept carries a new cold-air intake system for the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine which will generate up to 20 pounds of boost and help drastically decrease turbo lag. This new high-performance system is paired with a six-speed manual transmission with a concept short-throw shifter.
Silverado High Desert Concept
We were first introduced to the Chevy Silverado High Desert Concept truck back in May. For the 2016 SEMA show Chevy added some new parts that can be ordered through dealers like Don Wheaton. Among the new accessories are an illuminated black bowtie grille emblem, all-weather floor liners as well as performance brakes and exhaust.
If you would like to learn which of the accessories found on 2016 Chevy SEMA concepts you can order from our parts department, contact a Don Wheaton representative today.
