2017 Birkebeiner Ski Race and Festival
The Don Wheaton Blog could go on and on (and has) about all of the great outdoor recreational opportunities available in and around our fair city of Edmonton. One of the greatest of those is the Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival. Spectators will want to circle the race’s date on their calendars and racers of all abilities will want to get to the registration information as quickly as possible. For the 2017 Berkie race, wave starting is going to be introduced. The 55 KM with pack, 55 KM lite and 31 KM tour will start at 9 a.m., 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The idea is to give everyone enough space to ski comfortably while causing as few bottlenecks as possible.
NOTE: If you signed up for last year’s cancelled race, you may be eligible for discounted registration this year.
