2017 GMC Sierra Denali fuel consumption scores
The 2017 GMC Sierra Denali finds itself in the Don Wheaton inventory once again as the leader of the premium pickup truck community. Improvements made for the 2017 model year have boosted the truck’s profile for capability, handling and fuel efficiency. While the new Sierra Denali wasn’t majorly revised for the current production cycle, there have been a number of changes made to just about every portion of the truck. Most notably is the improvement to the fuel economy of the 2017 GMC Sierra Denali. GMC engineers have really gone out of their way to ensure the latest version of the full-size pickup is also the most efficient.
How much fuel does the 2017 Sierra Denali use?
Just as in years past, the 2017 GMC Sierra Denali offers a pair of engines for customers to choose from. Don Wheaton customers will need to pick from a either a 5.3- or 6.2-liter V-8. For the new model year both engines will be paired with the new GMC Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission and Active Fuel Management; which disables certain portions of either engine to ensure no unnecessary gas is used.

Also new for the 2017 GMC Sierra Denali is the addition of active aero shutters behind the iconic mesh grille. Theses slats will automatically open and close at certain speeds and under certain conditions to help the engine perform at peak efficiency. When closed, the shutters act as an air dam and assists the truck in slicing through the air as smoothly as possible.
