The power output has been increased this year by 17 horsepower from last year, which is an increase of more than 12 percent, and that really does make a welcome difference in a vehicle of these proportions.
A vehicle designed primarily for the town and city needs to be pretty fuel-efficient, and this is another area where the 2022 Encore doesn’t disappoint. If you stick with the standard front-wheel-drive format, you can expect to get fuel economy ratings of 9.7 L/100 km in the city and 7.3 L/100 km on the highway. If you opt for the extra capability of all-wheel-drive instead, those numbers change to a still-impressive 10.2 L/100 km in the city and 7.7 L/100 km on the highway, which is a small price to pay for all that extra traction in those more challenging driving conditions.
Although there’s just a single, well-equipped trim level of 2022 Buick Encore, there’s also an opportunity to further upgrade from the list of available options. Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels with Technical Grey pockets, air conditioning, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, cloth seats with leatherette trim, and cruise control, keyless open and start, a rear vision camera and plenty more.
