The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is, therefore an all-electric subcompact crossover SUV from GM that’s sure to attract a lot of attention from those who are considering making a move to all-electric driving. As well as being an entirely new model for Chevrolet, the Bolt EUV is also the first Chevrolet to feature the new hands-free Super Cruise driver-assistance Package.
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV (electric utility vehicle) is obviously a very close relation to the Chevrolet Bolt EV. Still, as well as being a little larger, the Bolt EUV is also available in a couple of different trim levels. The standard vehicle is the Bolt EUV LT, but you can pay a little more for the even more generously equipped Bolt EUV Premier.
Standard Bolt EUV LT features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic on/off headlights, IntelliBeam auto high beams, LED lights, an 8-way power driver’s seat, cruise control, HD rear vision camera, heated front seats, keyless open and start, rear park assist and automatic climate control. Infotainment is also well taken care of with the Chevrolet 3 Plus system with a 10.2-inch diagonal HD colour touch-screen, SD card reader, Wi-F- hotspot capability, wireless device charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Premier models add the likes of perforated leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a rear camera mirror, heated rear seats, and adaptive cruise control.
The Bolt EUV is a pretty sensational-looking vehicle that doesn’t necessarily shout to the world that you’re driving an electric vehicle. It’s every bit as modern and stylish as most people would want a vehicle of this type to be, but it’s still conventional enough to not frighten buyers away who are still undecided about going electric. Although there’s a strong family resemblance with the Bolt EV, the EUV doesn’t actually share any exterior sheet metal, even though both vehicles do share the same architecture.
The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is 2,675mm long, 1,770mm wide, and 1,615mm tall, which makes it bigger in every dimension, but as it’s only 53kg heavier than its smaller sibling, the performance is almost identical.
The electric motor system of the 2022 Bolt EUV employs features a sizeable 65-kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed driving range on a full charge of some 259 miles. That’s a lot more miles than the majority of us drive in a day or even several days, and the front-drive Bolt EUV’s 200 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque delivers pretty decent performance thanks to its relatively lightweight for an electric vehicle.
Thanks to its new 11-kilowatt onboard charger, the Bolt EUV can be fully recharged in around 7 hours when it’s connected to a 48-amp wall box with a 60-amp circuit. When you have access to DC fast-charging, the Bolt EUV battery can be charged up enough for 100 miles of driving in as little as 30 minutes.
