And if that’s still not to your liking there’s also the opportunity to upgrade further with a 6.2-litre V-8 that produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The impressive quartet of powerplants is rounded off by an available 3.0-litre inline-six turbodiesel that develops 277 horsepower and a very tow-friendly 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The diesel allows the Sierra to tow as much as possible with the 6.2-litre V-8 under its hood, which is a maximum of 5,897 kg (13,000 pounds) after a 1,814 kg (4,000-pound) increase as a result of chassis updates and a larger rear differential.
The Sierra’s standard air conditioning has now been dropped in favour of an upgrade to a more advanced climate-control system in base versions of the Sierra 1500 Limited, but just about any feature you can think of for a pickup truck is either standard or available for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited. Range-topping Denali models continue to set the bar high for style, opulence, and the highest levels of standard equipment in the half-ton truck segment, but even a Denali can be further enhanced if you want it to be. The Denali Reserve Package that was previously called Denali Ultimate, is a good way to do just that as it adds power steps, a power sunroof, a rear camera mirror, and adaptive cruise control to the top model’s already stellar list of standard equipment.
